Get Ready To Ramble...Pigg River Ramble!

Do you enjoy to kayak or canoe? If so, please mark your calendar for this once a year tradition here in Franklin County. If the rains are good, then the ramble is even better!

This is a 3 day weekend event of canoeing and kayaking our blueways here in Franklin County.

The Pigg River Ramble is the "Main Event" and the big draw for most paddlers. The Ramble takes place on the Pigg River - starting point at Waid Park ending at Lynch Park. Other events include the Friday night "Blackwater Blackout" a float down the Blackwater when it is BLACK! This 2 mile float takes place after dark and can be aided by the use of flashlights (if you can't handle the dark.)
The entire weekend will consist of much music, food, and fun activities for all ages. Primitive camping is available on site, but for those who enjoy a nice hot shower and comfy bed after hours of paddling - - stay with us here at The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast. Tony will be doing the cooking as Shellie might just join you in the race! She got her t-shirt and finished the race last year in good stead. Notice I didn't say good time, we were in a drought and she scraped bottom more than she paddled.

If your muscles are not sore enough, join us for the final event for this fun weekend on Sunday with a "Breakfast on the Blackwater." Hey if we all go we can leave the cookin' to The Hub and let the innkeepers have the mornin off!
