Pickin,' grinnin' and politickin' at The Floyd Country Store

I say it all the time, living here is always so full of surprises.

Our wonderful guests from Maryland who have been enjoying The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast all week - have been out and about daily doing this and that with no shortage of things to do in our neck of the woods – he graduated from Virginia Tech in 1980, so Thursday they went over to Blacksburg to try to find his old frat house.

Yesterday I printed out some Blue Ridge Parkway moderate hiking/walking trails for them to test - the Fall leaves are incredible and the weather dropped to comfy 60 degrees (perfect for hiking). They were going to go from there to Floyd for the famous Friday Night Jamboree at the Floyd Country Store.

This morning they tell us and show us photos on their cell phone of what happened last night at the Floyd Country store: Last night they went over upon my recommendation (as Floyd is unlike any other place on the planet and most of our guests miss this fantastic stop on The Crooked Road!) When the third band came out to play – they said everyone was having fun and flat foot dancing – here comes our Governor, Tim Kaine. He is on the stage jammin' with the band playin' harmonica. They got such a kick out of it.

(PS Yes, it was a Pickin’, grinnin’ and politickin’ stop for Democrat Candidate Creigh Deeds – who is from SW Virginia.)
