Friday Night Lights in the Shadow of the Blue Ridge

Living in a small southern town is always an adventure.  There is a sense of community and camaraderie I have not experienced living anywhere else.  The one thing these small towns love is their All American Game of Football!  College games are hugely celebrated, and high school football is a weekly event here in the Fall.

Last Friday night, for some bizarre reason we had all 6 rooms checked in early and headed out for their own fun,  so Tony and I went to the game!  One member of this innkeeping family is there in the marching band and the other was invited to play in the Pep band with other 8th grade middle school hopefuls.

The Eagles won triumphantly 37 to 26, it was good clean fun!  Each time The Eagles scored out roared the screech of an Eagle from the loudspeaker.
Next home game in Rocky Mount is 10/1/10 against Martinsville.
10/22/10 against Halifax Co and then 10/29/10 against George Washington.

You are cordially invited to visit small town USA...leave your car parked at The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast and walk down the hill a couple blocks to high school.  Head over to Frank's for a pizza or sub and then enter the gates of Franklin County High for some small town fun!  (Oh and ps make sure you wear RED)

Shellie your innkeeper @ The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast in Rocky Mount, VA - Blue Ridge Country! You can book your room online at any time right here, and save $10 per night.  Better yet show us your ticket stub from a Kirk Avenue Show while staying here and save $20.
The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast is 15 miles to three exits off The Blue Ridge Parkway. Did you know The Blue Ridge Parkway has more variety of leafy trees than anywhere else?
