Los Tres Amigos Restaurant Review

We have a handful of restaurants within walking distance of The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast.
This was our lunch at Los Tres Amigos
On our corner is Sol Azteca "Fresh Mex" type Mexican Food. Right next door is Angle Dining Room "Country Cookin'" you know 1 meat and 3 sides southern fare (limited hours), directly behind us is Hema's Italian "Hole-in-the-wall" local, down from that is The Hub "Greasy Spoon-Blue Plate Special" Diner, local hang-out where the old men solve the world's problems, and lastly at the other end of our street is Edible Vibe Cafe "Local Gathering Place for Worldly People" funky international made from scratch-atchya by the rock n roll Chef John Schopp - limited hours. Beyond that we have Pyramid Pizza, and a couple of day-time only deli's like Daily Grind which is adjacent to the courthouse, you can also walk to. (If you want to drive we have a whole list in your room you will find at check-in).

But if you venture down the hill 3 blocks you come to Pizza Hut, Hardy's, Tian Jin Chinese and Eagle Cinema. Sandwiched between those in this little strip mall is Los Tres Amigos.

Guests ask me all the time "Where would you eat?" I tell them where I do eat. Yes, I love Mexican Food and the best service in town is at Los Tres Amigos! Jorge is our favorite server there and treats you with just enough care to make your meal a happy one! (No, not a happy meal, we also have a super McDonald's and in fact we recommend it, highest grossing McDonald's around, great owners and happy employees! Tell Larry and Donna we sent you.)

Back to Los Tres Amigos: Simple delicious Mexican food, reasonable prices, open late. Fully licensed if you want a Dos Equis or margarita with your meal.

Tony enjoys either the Amigos T-Bone which is served similar to fajitas but you cut the tender meat off the bone yourself, or the Tacos al Pastor. I enjoy (oddly enough) the simple Taquitos, since I miss the rolled tacos with guac we used to get growing up at every taco shop in San Diego.
Shellie's favorite Tres Amigos dish is the Chicken Taquitos
and again, a bit closer up...are you drooling yet? Ole'
Los Tres Amigos now has a lunch-time buffet 11-3pm Mon - Sat $5.99.
430 Tanyard Rd, Rocky Mount VA 24151 540.489.7940 if you wish to order carry-out and enjoy it on The Claiborne House porch!

yes... I am drooling by now, growing up in S.Cal and now living in Ireland... oh what I would give to be sitting in "Tres Amigos" with a hot plate of "rolled tacos" with "guac" in front of me. Yes, I would travel across the Atlantic for a bit of "Tres Amigos" My Irish Husband and four children love TRES AMIGOS, in fact my little girl named her new kitten Amigo.
