When innkeepers escape...

After a very busy Summer and Fall season here at The Claiborne House B&B, even with a wonderful year of fantastic guests, we needed a break...so we were counting down until we could have our own escape to a Virginia State ParkWe booked a cabin and off we went to Douthat State Park which is located in the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia.
On the porch of our cabin, you can see the lake through the trees (this log cabin was built by the CCC in 1936) Off season getaways are fun!
Tony & Shellie out exploring Douthat State Park
No cell phone, no wifi, no tv, just family fun
Boats stowed away for the season
Douthat has more than 40 miles of trails and is known as "Mountain Biking Nirvana"
Back at the cabin after a looooong hike

VIRGINIA IS SO DIVERSE, FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE SEASHORE, THERE IS JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE RIGHT HERE IN THIS STATE

~Fall in love with Virginia~
