Leaves without mold

People always ask us when they find out we lived in the PacNorthwest how we found ourselves in Virginia?
Well, on a trip back to the "Evergreen State" we remarked on the moss growing on all sides of the tree. and the houses. and the decks.

We actually get MORE rain here in Rocky Mount Virginia than we did in Port Orchard Washington. But it comes in the summer time mostly. Whereas Western Washington is wet most of the year.
Leaves without mold means wintertime fun
You can hike, bike and do all those outdoorsy things in the winter time with proper insulating clothes. We were determined to get out for the first day hike on Jan 1, and these photos are from that hike at nearby Smith Mountain Lake State Park!

Don't get me wrong, I still have my favorite places in Washington State. I collect favorite places wherever I live!

ISN'T IT TIME FOR A BLUE RIDGE DAY Y'ALL?
