We can't be all things to all people, that is a fact jack! (oh boy I sound like Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty now)
A wise online-marketer said that everyone has "a little something for everyone" and that is just not wise marketing.
What do YOU have that they do not have?
Is it a one time wonder, ie an amazing site of interest that once you have "been there and done that" you probably won't consider going back? (like a specific museum or battlefield)
I have been thinking about this for us here at The Claiborne House B&B and the area we market.
We have so many reasons to visit this area it is hard to nail it down to just a couple. For all of those who love amazing hikes and scenery, there are those who like cruising around one of our lakes on a pontoon or ski boat, to those who love the mountain music that is totally unique to this area. Those would be the top three I suppose if I were to put it in a nutshell.
Of course staying with us at The Claiborne House B&B just to get away from it all and do nothing but relax and cuddle is also okay!
But how can we market our heritage and culture as a tourism destination? You can't legally buy moonshine.
And not everyone likes to get off the highway and onto the blue-ways...not everyone likes the wing ding twang of a banjo being plucked!
Feel free to share any ideas with us, things you have found unique and a reason to come back to Franklin County/Rocky Mount and these Blue Ridge Foothills of Virginia!
ISN'T IT TIME FOR A BLUE RIDGE DAY Y'ALL?
