Simple things

Charlie Chaplin once said "Simplicity is not a simple thing." Boy ain't that the truth! But sometimes the simple things can be the most rewarding. Take for example what just occurred here...
October is a very busy month. We are half way there, and Sierra (our daughter who is assistant innkeeper at The Claiborne House B&B) is working hard, struggling to keep on task, but doing it none-the-less. My favorite apron is from Indiana designer Vera Bradley. I bought it IN INNDIANA while visiting a wonderful inn-mate of mine, Dr Jane at McDowell-Nearing House B&B in Muncie Inndiana.
I saw this half apron from Vera Bradley and just knew Sierra would love it! She does! I took a quick photo (pre washing or ironing it for use). She was very pleased, something simple made her day.
Time to get back to it here at The Claiborne House B&B. Please consider the first weekend in November as a prime leaf-peeping time here in Franklin County Virginia. It is awesome, the leaves hold on until the majority of the peepers go home...then they do their thang!

I hope you will enjoy this song by a Claiborne House B&B guest songwriter, composer and musician Jim Brickman, the most charted contemporary male artist to date "Simple Things." We have this song and more from Jim on our breakfast music playlist (happily approved by "the Brickhouse" himself for our B&B guest's listening pleasure!)
ISN'T IT TIME FOR A BLUE RIDGE DAY Y'ALL?
