Junie's Gift - - Thank you!

Unwittingly, or wittingly our guests have helped cats and dogs in need here in Franklin County at our No Kill Animal Shelter.

When we first moved here, sadly before action was taken, cats and dogs were being euthanized daily at our county animal shelter/pound.  For some reason folks don't spay their pets as much here and many are left in county dumpsters to die. Yes, this is criminal!

The no kill shelter opened in 2009 by donations and fundraising. There is a low cost spay and neuter clinic here as well that opened in 2000 to help with the overpopulation and needless destruction of cats and dogs in our county.

So for Junie's birthday she designated a special gift, being the assistant to the assistant innkeeper, and now acting in the role as the Assistant Innkeeper here at The Claiborne House B&B, $5 from every room rented would go to our no kill Franklin County Humane Society from Jan 1 thru June 30, 2014.

Now that we are in July 1st, Junie asked me to do the tally and send the check. We are not asking that the amount be publicized, but we wanted you to know wherever you are, if you stayed with us here at The Claiborne House B&B, your room rate has gone to help a cat or dog in need! WE THANK YOU!

If you are interested is having a new four-legged family member, we ask that you visit the Franklin County Humane Society, they are located just a couple miles north from us on Highway 220. We wish they were open on Sundays when our guests check out to take a fur-baby home with them!
